last weekend i spent at my parents getting things done for baby...all.by.myself. it's amazing what you can accomplish solo. i was able to get there in time for present opening and birthday cake thursday night for raquel's birthday. i shopped it up with my sisters, sewed hours on end, went to the movies, ate out, got my hair done, chatted with friends, and slept in...8:15am? i was one happy wife/mommy when i returned sunday night and emerson was one happy man to see me.i had an ultrasound yesterday. due to shoulder dystocia with rockwell and my others getting stuck, my doctor wanted to see how big our little man was. especially since my babies are getting progressively bigger. i have never had an ultrasound after 20 weeks so it was really cool to see him so far along. his face was pretty smooshed but they got a decent shot of it. his cheeks look as though they are growing sufficient chub. his aunties and siblings should approve. by measuring his head, chest and femur they estimate he is between 6lbs 10oz and 7 lbs. they say it is hard to make a prediction off just that, especially when the doctor said that his tummy is already in the 94%. they also said that shoulder dystocia has a lot to do with babies with broad shoulders, and they have no way of measuring that in an ultrasound. i am guessing my fourth will have broad shoulders since every one of us in our little family has them. so, depending on my appointment this next week, my doctor should let me know when she wants to induce me. i am really just hoping i can go into labor on my own and that he will be a decent size and not get stuck. the black and white ultrasound picture up top is a shot of the back of head with his hair floating around. we'll see how much it amounts to at birth.

That is AMAZING! Honestly, this whole baby-making thing is quite a miracle. Call me crazy, but I can almost see a Rockwell resemblence in the 4-D ultrasound. Can't wait to meet him!
